There are many objects that can be in a flight path -- trees, power lines, lamp posts, buildings, other drones, heck even flying cars! Keeping track of all these objects at low altitude flight is a complex task for the drone pilot to do manually. Our autonomous collision avoidance (ACC) automatically tracks, identifies and steers clear of flight path hazards. The pilot is then able to focus more effectively at the task on hand. ACC, based on a camera array capturing visual data and computer vision algorithms to process the data, is integrated into the drone piloting system. In tandem to ACC is our no-light automated landing feature, which allows craft to touch down in low-light or pitch dark conditions. All this is patent pending.

The Microsoft HoloLens headset provides the pilot with a mix of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualizations where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. This brings a whole new level of situational and environmental awareness for the pilot. For example, a pilot within a SWAT team can have holographic images of a building, see it at multiple angles and have building parameters at their fingertips. There is an immersive experience provided with the completely portable, wire-free HoloLens headset.

There are a variety of sensors available to collect hyperspectral data. We are able to integrate to sensors, such as FLIR, high definition cameras, Lidar, infrared and others, on the drone. This wide sensor integration capability provides flexibility to drones to take on multiple roles. For example, a robotic arm and camera integrations gives a firefighter the ability to move some debris in a burning building. Patent pending.

By combining our AI with facial recognition, anomaly detection, sensors and object detection, we can provide an educated prediction on situations a pilot is encountering. For example, a police officer piloting a drone over a crowd is able to better detect concealed weapons, identify the type of weapons, identify who the person(s) are with the said concealed weapons and thus improve their situational awareness in real time and from a safe remote location.
